Do I have to pay to borrow Field Equipment Lending Library (FELL) tools that I see on the NYC Energy Tools website?
No! FELL loans out tools to you at no cost to NYC facility and energy personnel.
What can I use the FELL tools for?
The FELL tools found on the NYC Energy Tools website can be used to conduct studies, troubleshoot issues, and take measurements before and after implementing energy efficiency projects – including those required for projects funded by DCAS DEM’s ExCEL, ACE, and other funding programs.
How do I borrow FELL tools?
Check out the tool library! All currently available tools are listed out here for you to choose from. CUNY BPL staff are also available to assist with tool selection. For more information, please review the borrowing guidelines.
I don't know how to use the FELL tools that I need – is there training available?
Yes! CUNY BPL offers technical comprehensive assistance and training at no cost, to ensure that NYC agency personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively utilize the tools they borrow. We also partner with the Department of Energy Management at DCAS to offer coaching programs for agency personnel.
I have some loggers or tools in my building and I am not sure where they came from. How can I tell if it belongs to FELL?
Yes! If you see a QR Code on the tool, please scan it to confirm it belongs to FELL. If there is no QR Code, please contact us for assistance.
I have FELL tools in my possession. How do I return?
