Water-Cooled Chiller Measurement Kit

Use this kit to assess the energy consumption (electricity usage) of a water-cooled chiller system.

Take hourly average measurements of electricity (kW, voltage, current, power factor) during the chiller operating season. An energy logger that can measure three-phase power should be used.

• Use only one energy logger per chiller system.
• Use one MX2301 weatherproof data logger to take hourly measurements of the outdoor air dry-bulb temperature.
• Use one thermocuple sensor and logger to take hourly average measurements of the condenser water supply and chilled water supply and return temperatures (via pipe surface temperature measurements).
• Use one ultrasonic flow meter to take hourly average condenser and chilled water flow measurements.
